Advice about Reina's ArtI have been blessed to offer Reina's art since we met at Art Expo in New York Jacob Javitts Center in 1995. Her warmth and playfulness comes through clearly in her pieces. Her expert use of color and texture, and her multi-faceted creative vision has resulted in a large and diverse body of work from which we can choose. If you like "Reinas", you will find that you can enjoy several pieces of her work throughout your home or business...harmoniously, but never with a sense of sameness. Reina's work is strong enough to be presented with minimal fine art matting and framing. However, if you enjoy more prominent "decorator" style framing, you can use matting and frame mouldings to accent the color in her pieces that may coincide with the dominant or accent colors in your decor. Her works on handmade paper are especially versatile. They can simply be "floated" on various color backings , as follows:
The floated pieces can be either framed as is, or you can add additional matting to incorporate more color or to increase the overall size of the finished piece. The sample piece shown here (Harmony) measures approximately 36" x 24". If you add 2" of float background, then frame it with a 1.5" moulding, your finished piece will measure about 43" x 31". However if you want a larger finished piece, you can use additional matting, say 4" all around. In that case, your finished piece would measure about 51" x 49".
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss your selection of work by Reina. You can reach me via email emmie@estrellafineart.com and we can set up a phone consultation at a mutually convenient time. I would love to hear from you! Emmie
