NEW Color Palette is Coming
Home decor has been mired in earth tones for
the past decade, maybe more. While some style gurus proclaim
continuing earthy colors to be "comforting" in uncertain times, more
seem to agree a change is overdue. Gray is replacing beige as the
neutral of choice. Even pink is now permissible!
Pantone, the leading color design company, is featuring refreshing,
vivid color for Fall 2008. It may take some time to see products in
stores with these new colors, but be on the lookout for them. Often,
the home decor industry takes longer to adopt new palettes, so you
may start to see these shades in clothing first. Here are
Pantone's Top Ten for Fall, 2008:

Blue Iris |

Aurora Red |

Here's an Idea:
Choose your Art BEFORE Décor!
If you have ever experienced the frustration of searching for the
perfect artwork to finish your room, then you know what a daunting
task that can be. The old needle in a haystack. Even
some of the decorating shows are starting to recognize the
importance of incorporating into their design a piece or even a
collection of artwork the client already owns. It makes the
whole process so much easier. Besides, you cannot go wrong
that way! How so? Well, if you chose the artwork and you love
it, AND if you also choose your décor
and love it, well, naturally all should work well together.
You are one person. Trust your underlying good taste and sense
of harmony!
