Dan Hines, B.W.S.

Based in southern New Jersey, Dan Hines has become one of the Mid Atlantic region's masters of contemporary watercolors. His work is distinguished by judicious use of vibrant color in rural landscapes and marine scenes for every season, and for many regions of this beautiful country.  Hines is also recognized for his  interpretations of historic sites such as the Betsy Ross House and Elfreth's Alley in Philadelphia.

A resident of Medford, NJ since 1965, Hines has achieved distinction via numerous awards at notable competitions throughout the region since 1986. He studied under internationally known painter Dominic DeStefanou, whose influence is evident especially in Hines' earlier work. Dan Hines’ prior career experience in commercial art and signage  developed his ability to convey striking visual information in a simple, clear form. While most of his art depicts rural and coastal New Jersey and historic landmarks in Philadelphia, he also paints places from his travels in New England and throughout the Mid Atlantic Region. Dan Hines'  work is in numerous private and corporate, and municipal collections nationwide.  He is a member of the prestigious Baltimore Watercolor Society.  He teaches watercolor technique at the Center for the Arts in Marlton, NJ and is a member of the prestigious Baltimore Watercolor Society.
