Ann Rothan Artist Statements
|
Ann Rothan often
shares with us her experiences, personal revelations, and prayers
concerning her works. I hope these will add to your enjoyment and
appreciation of the Ann Rothan images that you decide to bring into your
life. . . Emmie |

The Ancients Come |
Artist's Statement
"After throwing color on a large piece of
paper the painting dried, this figure appeared in the center,
looking like it came from a Nebula explosion in space, putting me on
my knees!! Every time I started to paint on it, my hair stood on
end...the energy was so huge! Soon, what seemed like Sacred
Geometry appeared as symbols surrounding the figure. I am
still in awe of this magnificent Being and the powerful energy that
it brings". Ann Rothan
"I am the living breath of awareness
held sacred in the Soul. I salute the essence of God within us and
bow my head in humility and respect for that Divinely present in us
all. I accept that we are One reality and honor the miracle of
life as the living breath of Mother Father God. "

Dolphin Sunset |
Artist's Statement:
"This painting was inspired by a story I
was told. 'A couple sailed often in the evening. She would say
'I want to come back as a dolphin when I die'. For years after her
sudden death, her husband could not force himself to sail.
Then one evening, as he began to ready the sailboat, dolphina
appeared. The dolphins stayed with him during his outing, and
to this day, go with him every time he sets sail'.
"I painted her merging with the dolphin
on the right side. She is
facing the setting sun. So often, when people share their
stories, dreams, and visions with me, it inspires a painting.
Thank you." Ann Rothan |

Butterfly Angel |
Artist's Statement:
"This Angel Fairy awakens the
butterflies very early in the morning. As they emerge from their
sleep, she lets each one know the joy they are bringing to the human
kingdom. She blows gently on their wings, infusing them with
sparkling colors that will shimmer in the sun. When fully awakened
to their mission, she sprinkles them with magic and sees them on
their way, to bless the world with each flutter of their wings."

Crib Angel |
Artist's Statement:
"When our children were small, we would
hear them giggling and cooing in their cribs. Often, we
wondered just who they were talking to -- what did they see
that made them so happy? Peeking in, we would see them smiling,
kicking, cooing and squealing, looking into space! Thinking
they were talking to their Angels, perhaps remembering where they
just came from in heaven, we would quietly close the door and listen
to their delight in being here--PLANET EARTH!"

In the Beginning |
Artist's Statement:
"There is
something about this painting that keeps me interested in looking
deeper and deeper into the spaces. It is playful and it is
meditative. There are more than two angels in the painting; can you
find them? They are reflected in the clouds and on Earth. The color
speaks to the violet flame within, abiding in our sacred dream
space."
Ann Rothan
Director's Note:
This may be Ann Rothan's most famous image.
It is the first one I ever saw from her. For me, it defines her
work. It reminds us our innate soul knowledge...that we are One,
born of stardust, and lovingly created by God.

Dispeller of Darkness |
Artist's Statement:
"Dispeller of Darkness was painted for a
show in Portland, Oregon. I started to paint soft watery
colors, however dark purples and blues wanted to be present. -
finally, going with the deeper tones, Angels came to the surface
revealing their power, dispelling the darkness - thus the title.
With our eyes closed, imagine we are
viewing our Mother Earth from space...so beautiful, a suspended blue
jewel. We can raise our hands in our minds eye and pour
healing light from our palms. We see no boundaries, no
races...we feel only love surrounding this precious globe."

Healing Hands |
Artist's Statement:
"This was a commission. Only half of
the painting is shown (in the print). I felt the painting as a
whole was not to be shared. This beautiful healer with roses
around her crown, a healing orb within her hands and the dove in
flight felt like it was for all of us. For me, she began her
healing ways as I began to put down the blue washes. The
hidden animals and angels are part of the mystery.
May I always remember that my hands hold
the power to heal; that what I touch is blessed by the love I hold
within my heart. May I never forget to bless all that is seen
or unseen."

Miracle Baby |
Artist's Statement:
"This painting was meant for a children's
book on world religions. It was not used so I decided to make
a print of it. Babies ARE a miracle. The baby who holds
the universe in its heart also holds a rattle that is a prayer
wheel. The cradle blossom floats on waves of energy in our
solar system waiting until the exact moment of birth."

Heavens Light |
Artist's Statement:
"My sweet sister-in-law lost her battle
with breast cancer. Battle she did. She fought it to the
end. In that fight she managed to transform those who
knew her.
The Light fo Heaven pours from the
Divine heart space between the breasts, even the petals take on a
heart-breast look. The colors are creative...pure, deep yet
transparent.
The Divine Feminine reaches into the
depth of her heart-soul, where life comes from.
Heaven Knows
Heaven Heals
Heaven Loves
Reach into my heart Father Mother
God, pour the healing LIGHT of your LOVE into me...
Fill me with Your
Brilliance...burning off the old...allowing the new to form.

Transformations |
Artist's Statement:
"This was a commission. The butterfly
signifies a soul that is to be, or going to be transformed through
- Truth
- Forgiveness
- Compassion &
- Love
We are the cocoons waiting for grace
and knowledge, waiting to be born into New. Ann Rothan |

Artist's Statement
"This
painting was one of a backdrop series for a ballet troupe in the
Midwest...It seems to be dancing with new life, new beginnings.
Because it has always appealed to the feminine side in me, it was a
natural progression to add the little girl and all the Spirit
Beings. They are hidden throughout, waiting to be found like our
future, not yet revealed, hidden from view, being watched over by
our Angels." Ann Rothan
Director's Note:
This is an image you can rediscover every time
you look at it. So far, I have found 6 beings in it.
We deliberately limit the size and quality of images we put on the
internet in order to help to protect our artists' copyrights.

Wannabee |
Artist's Statement
"I truly had
fun with this painting. It took over six months to complete due to
the fact that I just did not want to finish. I love the contrast in
size of the blossom and the tiny fairies to the big Angel Fairy.
Maybe these tiny ones have something exciting and wonderful to share
with the Angel who looks so lovingly at them. The title comes from
wanting this to be the cover of a children's book. Who knows,
perhaps a children's story is waiting to be written around this
painting through YOUR imagination!
Ann Rothan
Director's Note:
Ann Rothan's work is so inspiring...you can
derive your own meaning from her rich imagery. For me,
Wannabee is about creativity itself. We emerge from our
creative lotus hearts, and we can be whatever we wannabee!
