LIKA TOV of Jerusalem has gained international attention for her handmade prints that embody Biblical imagery as well as text from the Dead Sea Scrolls. She grew up in the Netherlands, with her mother, sister, and brother, the only survivors of a large family of artists, artisans, and musicians. She studied commercial as well as fine art at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. The Israeli artist, Lika Tov, is an illustrator and printmaker. After completing her study in graphic art techniques at the Rietveld Academy in the Netherlands, she emigrated to Israel in 1963. She is married and has three children. She is best known for her innovative handmade prints on Biblical and Judaic subjects. Some of her art is influenced by the Dead Sea Scrolls, containing an artistic vision of specific scrolls. Her work has been exhibited in Israel, Europe, the United States, and Japan. She is well known in Israel both for her handmade prints, collagraphs, as well for illustrations of Biblical stories she did for Israeli television.
